Biography
MaKayla grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, and attended Morningside College before moving to Des Moines to earn her law degree from Drake University Law School. She joined Spaulding & Shaull in 2019 and quickly found that representing individuals facing powerful employers and insurance companies aligned with both her strengths and her values.
MaKayla’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation, personal injury, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice, and employment matters. She approaches each case with integrity, compassion, and determination. MaKayla is committed to making sure her clients understand their rights, have a voice in the legal process, and receive strong, effective advocacy during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.
MaKayla has called the Des Moines area home since 2017. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, and traveling.
